Field Experience, Hands-On Engineering at the Machine
The GMG Technic journey, born out of technical service, automation, commissioning and the production field.
The story of GMG Technic did not begin at an office desk or with a ready-made business plan. It began at the machines, on production floors, in the moments of breakdowns, during installations and commissioning, and within the technical struggle to keep production running.
For me, the machinery industry has never been merely about selling equipment or providing service. Understanding a machine means reading its mechanical structure, its electrical system, its automation logic, its relationship with the operator and its real role on the production line all together. That was exactly my goal when founding GMG Technic: to build a technical organization that does not just intervene, but understands the process, produces solutions and stands alongside the manufacturer.
When we founded GMG Technic in 2015, we had no grand slogans. What we had was field experience, technical knowledge, work discipline and a sense of responsibility toward production machinery. A journey that began in its early days with shrink sleeve, label machines, installation, technical service and automation work soon spread to different machine groups across the packaging, printing and converting sectors.
Over time, we gained extensive field experience in flexo, rotogravure, slitting/rewinding, lamination and pouch making lines, as well as in dismantling-installation, overhaul, automation and commissioning processes. Every project taught us something new. Sometimes we brought an old machine back to working condition, sometimes we accompanied a manufacturer on their first day of production during the installation of a new line, and sometimes we resolved a bottleneck in the production process by assessing the mechanical and automation sides together.
The most important distinction GMG Technic has reached today is that it does not look at a machine only from the outside. For us, the cause of a breakdown is not just the alarm shown on the screen; an overhaul is not just replacing parts, and an installation is not just putting a machine into place. Real technical service means understanding the machine's behavior within production, seeing the operator's needs, reading what the process requires, and turning all of this into an applicable solution.
This approach led us into a stronger solution partnership with HCI Converting Equipment in Türkiye. When HCI's slitter rewinder, shrink sleeve, pouch making, lamination and other converting machine solutions combine with GMG Technic's field experience, the result for manufacturers in Türkiye is not just a new machine alternative, but a more complete structure spanning everything from installation to commissioning and technical support.
Likewise, our authorized technical service responsibilities for Schiavi and Maingroup have shown that GMG Technic is a technical service and engineering organization with command not just of a single machine group, but of different production technologies. Because the path to success in the field does not run through memorizing brand names; it runs through correctly understanding the logic of the machine, the needs of production and the customer's real problem.
Today GMG Technic operates in many areas, including technical service, breakdown response, maintenance, overhaul, automation, PLC/HMI work, dismantling-installation, commissioning, operator training, and the custom manufacturing of machines and fixtures. Yet behind all these areas lies one unchanging principle: respect for the manufacturer's time, investment and production continuity.
Looking from the past to the present, I see that GMG Technic's greatest value is not only the work we have done. The real value lies in the trust earned in the field, the problems solved, the machines brought back to life, the installations completed and the technical memory built up over the years. For us, every machine is not a file number, but a running production process.
At the point we have reached today, our goal is clearer than ever: to provide the packaging, printing and converting sectors in Türkiye and our region with reliable, field-driven and applicable solutions in technical service, machinery solutions, automation and engineering. As in the past, today we are still at the machine; within production, in the field, on the side of the solution.
