The HCI Converting Equipment FDS-V500 Edge Trim Winder is auxiliary equipment designed for the orderly winding and collection of the edge trim generated on slitting lines. With its vector motor + inverter, it runs synchronized with the slitter line; it automatically adapts to the speed rhythm of the production line. The wound trim roll is easily discharged thanks to the 3 inch winding air shaft. The left/right trim guide movement is provided by a Germany-made slide screw; it offers high positioning accuracy and low wear compared to a linear slide. FDS-V500 working principle and key technical features
Synchronized Operation with Slitter (Signature)
The vector motor + inverter moves synchronized with the slitter line speed; thanks to the automatic winding speed control it adapts automatically to the speed change of the slitting machine. No separate speed adjustment is needed.
3″ Winding Air Shaft
The wound trim material is easily discharged thanks to the 3 inch winding air shaft. The pneumatic grip enables fast removal of the winding roll; trim material collected over a whole shift is transferred easily.
Germany-Made Slide Screw Trim Guide
The left/right trim guide movement is provided by a Germany-made slide screw. It offers more precise positioning, less wear and safer operation than a linear slide.
Pneumatic Dancer Roller
The pneumatic dancer roller unit allows the winding tension level to be adjusted by the operator. The winding structure is preserved on thin and slippery trim material, reducing the risk of wandering and tearing.
Vector Motor + Inverter Drive
The edge trim winder is driven by a vector motor and inverter; synchronized movement with the slitting machine is achieved. When the slitter line speed changes, the winder speed adjusts automatically, requiring no manual intervention.
3 inch Winding Air Shaft
A 3 inch pneumatic air shaft is located on the winding side. The air channels apply equal pressure to the core inner diameter for fast gripping; the wound trim roll is transferred out of the line easily.
Germany-Made Slide Screw Trim Guide
The left/right movement of the trim guide is provided by a Germany-made slide screw. Positioning accuracy is high and wear is minimal compared to a linear slide. It offers operator safety and a long service life.
Pneumatic Dancer Roller (Adjustable Tension)
The pneumatic dancer roller is included in the standard package. The winding tension level is operator-adjustable; the winding structure is preserved on thin, slippery and low-gauge trim material, reducing the risk of wandering and tearing.
Automatic Winding Speed Control
The automatic winding speed control function is included in the standard package. The FDS-V500 adapts instantly to the slitter’s speed change; the tension profile of the trim material is kept constant and trim collection remains consistent.
Synchronized Operation with the Slitter Line
The FDS-V500 is used integrated alongside the slitting machine. No separate winding operation is required; the trim collection cost is minimized and the workshop floor space is used efficiently.
