The HCI Converting Equipment Integration Type slitter rewinder family; with its compact architecture in which the unwind and rewind units are positioned on the same side of the machine, it delivers high efficiency with a single operator. It targets medium-to-upper capacity lines in flexible packaging film, paper, label stock and foil slitting applications. It is offered in five different web width configurations: FSL-KT1000, FSL-KT1300, FSL-KT1600, FSL-KT1800 and FSL-KT2000. The standard package includes HCI Friction Quick Lock Ring winding technology, 4 sets of aluminum lay-on roller and a left/right movable trim winder. GMG Technic Makina San. ve Tic. Ltd. Production Advantages
- Thanks to the Integration Type architecture in which the unwind and rewind units are located on the same side, it is operated by a single operator; the floor footprint is minimized and line changeovers are accelerated by the compact structure.
- Precise differential winding is performed with HCI Friction Quick Lock Ring winding technology (28 sets of 50 mm friction ring); no manual adjustment is needed under speed and diameter changes, and roll quality is kept consistent.
- 4 sets of aluminum lay-on roller (lay-on, 500 mm) provide contact across the entire rewind unit; on thin and slippery film and label materials the roll build is solid and play and the telescoping effect are eliminated.
- Powder-brake 10 kg/m + load cell + LPC web guider come in the standard package; print-line and edge dual-mode guiding keeps slitting positional accuracy high.
- A left/right movable trim winder comes in the standard package; the trim is removed from the line together with a 1HP trim ejection fan, providing a clean working environment and operator safety.
- With the modular upgrade packages, Siemens PLC + 9 inch HMI, Ball-Type Quick Lock Winding Shaft (Ball Type), a hydraulic up/down movable unwind stand (1000 mm diameter) and a turret-type discharge stand are added to adapt it to the line requirement.

FSL-KT operating principle and core technical features
Integration Structure (Signature)
A compact architecture in which the unwind and rewind units are positioned on the same side of the machine. A single operator handles both roll loading and winding control; the floor footprint is markedly smaller than that of standard slitters and in-line batch changeover is accelerated.
5 Web Width Configurations
The FSL-KT series is offered in 1000, 1300, 1600, 1800 and 2000 mm web width configurations. The width most suited to the investment plan and the final product range is selected; all models share the same standard package.
Trim Winder (Standard)
A left/right movable trim winding unit comes in the standard package; the trim is transferred out of the line with a 1HP trim ejection fan. No vacuum trim system is needed, and the line runs clean and simple.
Modular Upgrade Packages
Siemens PLC + 9 inch HMI, Ball-Type Quick Lock Winding Shaft (Ball Type), a hydraulic up/down movable/lowering unwind stand (for 1000 mm jumbo diameter), Japan LPC, an Adjustable Razor Cutting Unit and a turret-type discharge stand can be added modularly.
Integration Type (Single-Side Layout) Architecture
The signature feature of the FSL-KT series. The unwind and rewind units are positioned on the same side of the machine. A single operator handles both roll loading and winding control; the floor footprint is markedly smaller than that of standard slitters. The compact layout provides flexibility in shop-floor space planning.
3″ × 1,300 mm Pneumatic Unwind Air Shaft
A pneumatic 3 inch air shaft is included in the standard package. The air channels inside the shaft apply equal pressure to the core inner diameter for fast gripping and release. In the accessory package, a hydraulic up/down movable/lowering unwind stand can be added optionally to reach 1000 mm jumbo diameter.
Powder-Brake 10 kg/m + Load Cell Unwind Tension
Unwind tension control is done with a powder brake + load cell sensor combination. The PLC compares the load cell measurement with the target value and adjusts the powder brake on the fly. Stable tension is provided across the entire speed and diameter range; surface damage on thin film and label material is eliminated.
LPC Web Guider (Standard)
An LPC web guider is included in the standard package. It performs precise tracking in two operating modes: print line and web edge. The material’s position is continuously corrected before slitting; slit edge straightness and repeatability are kept high.
HCI Friction Quick Lock Winding Shaft
On the rewind side, 2 sets of HCI mechanical friction quick lock shaft are used with 28 pcs HCI Quick Lock Ring. Thanks to automatic side-pressure compensation, tension remains constant as the roll diameter grows. No operator intervention is needed when speed and diameter change; slit roll quality is consistently maintained.
Aluminum Lay-On Roller × 4 Sets
4 sets of 500 mm long aluminum lay-on roller come in the standard package. Each lay-on roller is positioned according to the slit width; it provides contact across the entire rewind. On thin and slippery film, label and foil materials the roll build is kept solid, and play and the telescoping effect are eliminated.
Dual Cutting: Groove-Roller Razor + Shear Knife (10 sets)
The standard package comes with both a Razor Groove Cutting System (groove roller + 10 razor cutting units) and a Shear Knife Cutting Unit (Ø118 × 92, 10 sets). The razor or shear mode is selected according to the material type and slit width; the cut edge is clean and the waste rate is low.
Product Discharge Rack + Cantilever Type Shaft (800 mm)
A product discharge rack and 2 sets of 800 mm cantilever-type discharge shaft are standard for ergonomically lowering the rolls whose winding is complete. Heavy rolls are transferred out of the line without manual carrying; operator safety and changeover speed increase.
PLC + 7.5″ Color HMI + 50 Recipe Memory
A 7.5 inch color LCD touchscreen is included in the standard package. It includes dialog-based parameter setting, automatic unwind and rewind tension control, automatic stop on material break, recipe memory of 50 units and a meter-tracked automatic stop function.
Anti-Static + Length Counter (Automatic Line Stop)
A static eliminator is standard for the static electricity that arises in plastic and thin-film slitting. The automatic counting unit tracks production without handing it off to the operator; the slit quantity is automatically reported at the end of the shift.
Left/Right Movable Trim Winder (Standard)
Collection of the trim material via the left/right movable winding unit is standard. It is transferred out of the line together with a 1HP trim ejection fan. No vacuum trim system is needed; the line runs clean and simple, and the trim collection cost is minimized.
Vector Motor Drive (5HP)
A main drive vector motor 5HP and 2 sets of winding vector motor 5HP with 3 sets of vector inverter come in the standard package. The upper and lower rewind shafts are independently driven, allowing different direction and tension taper control. With the modular upgrade it switches to the 4-Servo motor package.
