What Is the FSL-TX?
SMART series shaftless unwind and three-motor winding slitter-rewinder platform
The FSL-TX is a SMART series rewind slitter rewinder; it is designed for the high-precision slitting and rewinding of film, foil, paper and flexible packaging materials. It delivers flexible and stable production with a shaftless unwind stand, a dual slitting method (groove-roller razor + shear knife) and three-motor winding drive.
With the differential winding-direction function of the upper and lower rewind shafts and the PLC control system, it offers fast changeover between different job types. The compact SMART series layout provides flexibility in shop-floor space planning.

Technical Features
FSL-TX operating principle and core technical features
Shaftless Unwind Stand
Jumbo roll handling capacity up to 1 ton. The left and right unwind arms are motor-driven; the operator can adjust the web width on the fly. The pneumatic chuck quick clamp grips the main roll quickly and safely. Air brakes provide stable tension.
Edge Control System / Web Guiding
The entire unwind unit moves ±75 mm horizontally to guarantee slitting accuracy. Two operating modes are available: web-edge tracking and print-line tracking. Production repeatability is ensured on printed material.
Three-Motor Winding System
Three independent vector motors: the upper rewind shaft, the lower rewind shaft and the main drive roller. The tension profile of each rewind is controlled separately; the tension change that occurs as the diameter grows is automatically compensated.
Automatic Unwind Tension Control
Stable tension throughout the entire operation via continuous load cell + PLC comparison. Consistent winding quality even under speed and diameter changes.
Pneumatic Nip Rubber Roller
A perfect isolation point between the unwind and rewind. The risk of slippage and scratching is eliminated; surface quality is preserved on thin materials.
Dual Slitting Method
Razor-in-groove cutting + Shear Knife. Knife setting is done from the front. Clean cut edge and low waste rate.
Vacuum-Type Trim Removal (Standard)
The edge trim waste is transferred out of the line by special ejectors and powerful blowers. A clean working environment.
Anti-Static Brush System (2 sets)
Two anti-static brush sets positioned before the upper and lower rewind. Static discharge on plastic and thin-film materials.
Ball-Type Differential Winding Technology
HCI’s proprietary ball friction ring + automatic internal pressure compensation. Winding stability via two independent rewind motors and intelligent diameter control.
Pneumatic Lay-On Winding Roller (Lay-On, 2 Sets)
The slit roll makes full contact thanks to the lay-on roller. A solid roll build; play and telescoping effect are eliminated.
Product Discharge Rack
An ergonomic off-line rack for heavy rolls. Roll changeover time is reduced and operator safety increases.
PLC + 10" Color HMI Control System
A programmable PLC control system, a 10" color LCD touchscreen, operator parameter setting, automatic tension control, automatic stop on material break and 99 recipe memory manage the FSL-TX operations.

FSL-TX1300 / FSL-TX1600 Series Width Options
The FSL-TX series is offered with 1,300 mm and 1,600 mm web width configurations. The series model is selected according to the line requirement; the wide-web high-tonnage jumbo roll provides high production efficiency.
Unwind Quick Lock Chuck Options (3" standard / 6" optional)
The FSL-TX is offered with a 3" unwind quick lock chuck in the standard configuration. For applications requiring a 6" core inner diameter, a 6" unwind quick lock chuck option is available.
German-Made LPC Web Guider ( in place of )
A German-made LPC web guider in place of the LPC web guider in the standard package. Higher-precision print-line / edge control.
Air Brake Upgrade (15 → 30 kg/m)
A 30 kg/m upper variant in place of the standard 15 kg/m air brake. High braking torque on heavy jumbo rolls, more stable unwind tension control.
Laser Core Positioning Device
With 6 sets of laser markers + a power adapter, it provides core positioning accuracy and fast batch changeover.
Pneumatic Shear Knife Cutting System
A pneumatic slitting system with dovetail movement mechanism, 10 sets of upper air shear-knife holders and a lower air cutting shaft. Min. slit 50 mm.
Turret-Type Roll Discharge Stand
Automatic turret-type discharge stand + 2 pcs 3 inch discharge shaft (600 mm) + rotation and positioning device. Roll transfer is accelerated.
Automatic Reel Pusher Unit
A pusher system that automatically transfers finished rolls out of the line. Operator workload and cycle time are reduced.
Sandblasted Aluminum Lay-On Roller
3 inch × L600 mm sandblasted-surface aluminum lay-on roller (Lay-On, 2 sets). Reduces the curl-edge effect.
FPT-500 Paper Core Cutter
An external FPT-500 paper core cutter machine for cutting the cores of finished rolls. Integrated next to the slitter line, it provides core preparation suited to the line rhythm.
Splicing Table (Splicing Table)
Unwind-side splicing table + photocell sensor. Manual splicing time is reduced and material changeover is accelerated.
Stroboscope (Synchronizing Flash Light)
Synchronizing flash-light stroboscope unit + photocell sensor. High-speed surface inspection, in-line visual inspection.
Reel Handling and Stacking Accessories
Trolley (300/500/800 kg), manual stacking cart (1,000 kg) and hydraulic pallet truck (2.5 ton) options can be evaluated according to project requirements for removing, transporting and stacking finished rolls off the machine.
